Title
Chief Administrative Office returning to the Board as directed in Item 31 on September 28, 2010 to enable commencement of negotiations with the State of California, Administrative of the Courts (AOC). (Refer 9/28/10, Item 31).
Body
Reason for Recommendation:
The Board of Supervisors believes the best site for a future Courthouse in El Dorado County is at the site of the existing jail on Forni Road.  This makes the most sense because of the economics and security of moving prisoners between the jail and the courts.  The proximity of the jail to the court would improve courthouse security and would enhance court scheduling that required prisoners in attendance.
In order for the parties involved to fully understand the consequences of siting the new courthouse the Chief Administrative Office is setting a meeting with the Administrative Office of the Courts to discuss the County offered site.  Staff from the Department of Transportation - Facilities has been working diligently to obtain accurate data in preparation for this meeting.  At this time the Chief Administrative Office recommends this agenda be continued off calendar until such time as accurate and complete data is available and discussions have taken place.
