Department of Transportation recommending that the Board adopt a Resolution sanctioning the closure of roads in the Apple Hill area of Camino on Sunday, November 7, 2010, between 7:00 a.m. and 11:15 a.m., for the “31st Apple Hill Harvest Run” Event, subject to conditions set forth in Resolution No. 110-79 and conditions set forth in the "Application for Road Closure."

Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: No fiscal impact or net county cost.
Background: The 31st Annual “Apple Hill Harvest Run” Event is sponsored by the Camino School Parent Club and the Apple Hill Growers Association. The Harvest Run will be held on Sunday, November 7, 2010 between 7:00 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. and will start and finish at the Para Vi Winery. The sponsors have requested the road closures as follows:
Full Closure
- (8:50 am -10:15 am) Larsen Drive between North Canyon and Cable Road;
- (7:00 am -11:15 am) Larsen Drive between North Canyon and Carson Road.
One Lane Closure
- (8:50 am -10:30 am) Barkley Road (EB) between Larsen Drive and Carson Road;
- (9:00 am - 9:50 am) Cable Road (NB) between Larsen Drive and Carson Road;
- (8:55 am - 9:30 am) D Street (NB) between Carson Road and 2nd Street;
- (8:55 am - 9:30 am) 2nd Street (EB) between D Street and Larsen Drive;
- (8:40 am -10:00 am) Carson Road (WB) between Larsen Drive and North Canyon;
- (9:00 am -10:45 am) North Canyon (EB) between Carson Road and Larson Drive.
Reason for Recommendation: The Department of Transportation is recommending Board approval of the road closures to provide for the safety of participants, volunteers and spectators along the course, and to assist in the success of this community event. Other involved agencies have made no objections to this closure.
Action to be taken following Board approval:
1. The Board Clerk to obtain the Chair’s signature on the Resolution.
2. The Board Clerk to send an executed copy of the Resolution to the
Department of Transportation.
3. The roads listed in the Resolution will be closed on Sunday, November 7, 2010,
between 7:00 a.m. and 11:15 a.m., for the “31st Annual Apple Hill Harvest Run”
Event.
