Resolution 178-2010
Body
Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: No Fiscal impact. There is no net County cost associated with this item.

Reason for Recommendation:
Public utility easements, as shown on Tahoe Paradise Unit No. 13 final subdivision map recorded in Book C of Subdivision Maps at Page 25, were irrevocably offered in perpetuity to the County of El Dorado and accepted by the Board of Supervisors in September of 1959.

An application for Abandonment of Easement has been submitted to the Department of Transportation (DOT) by John Reichel III and Linda Z. Reichel, Trustees of the Reichel Family Trust dated 8/17/87, and David Reichel, requesting that the County of El Dorado Board of Supervisors vacate the front and rear two-foot wide public utility easements for Lot 953 and Lot 954, situated along the common boundary line of said lots, also identified as Assessor’s Parcel Numbers 034-192-04 & 034-192-05. The areas of abandonment are more particularly described in Exhibit A and depicted on Exhibit B of the attached Resolution.

The subject properties are located on Ottawa Drive, east of State Highway 89 and south of US Highway 50, in the Meyers area. Said action is necessary to accommodate a boundary line adjustment between the two subject parcels.

Utility companies that could be impacted by this vacation have submitted written notification to the DOT that they have no facilities within the subject area and do not object to the proposed abandonment. The DOT staff has also reviewed the request and has no objection. All other existing easements will remain.

Action to be taken following Board approval:
1) Said Resolution referenced herein will be recorded by the Board Clerk.
2) A copy of the recorded Resolution will be sent to the pr...
