Title: Department of Human Services recommending the Board adopt a Resolution authorizing the Chairman to sign Amendment 1 to Agreement AP-1011-29 with the California Department of Aging increasing the maximum grant amount by $7,507 to $931,745 for the term July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011 for the provision of senior services during Fiscal Year 2010-11; and further authorizing the El Dorado County Area Agency on Aging Director, or successor, to continue to administer Agreement AP-1011-29 as amended and execute subsequent documents relating to said Agreement, including amendments thereto, contingent upon approval by County Counsel and Risk Management, that do not affect the dollar amount or the term, and any subsequent required fiscal and programmatic reports. Amendment 1 to AP-1011-29 reflects a decrease of $2,610 in Special Deposit Funds and an increase of $10,117 from the State General Fund and the Skilled Nursing Facility Quality & Accountability Fund to the Ombudsman program for a total increase of $7,507. This funding is included in the Department's FY 2010-11 budget.

Reason for Recommendation:
On May 25, 2010 the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution 064-2010 authorizing the execution of Agreement AP-1011-29 in the amount of $924,238 in federal and state funding for provision of Older Americans Act senior services during FY 2010-11. Amendment 1 to Agreement AP-1011-29 increases the 2010-11 grant amount by $7,507 in one-time-only funds from a State General Fund offset to the Special Deposit Fund and from the Skilled Nursing Facility Quality & Accountability Fund through the enactment of SB 853, keeping Ombudsman Program funding consistent with the previ...
