REASON FOR RECOMMENDATION:  At the request of the Department of Transportation, the Procurement and Contracts division issued an Invitation to Bid for one Three Axle Dump Truck with Dump Body.  Riverview International Trucks, LLC of West Sacramento, CA was the only bid received.  The Board awarded the bid on June 22, 2010 (item #4). The Department of Transportation has fixed asset approval for the purchase of three of these pieces of equipment in Fiscal Year 2010/201; one has already been purchased from this vendor.  Two more units have been requested by the Department.   Pursuant to the "Additional Purchases" article of Bid #10-760-075, the vendor has agreed to honor the same pricing for the same unit in a model year 2012. These Dump Trucks will replace current trucks which do not meet air quality standards and do not qualify for retrofits or repowers.
 
FISCAL IMPACT/CHANGE TO NET COUNTY COST:  Procurement and Contracts has been advised that funding is available within the Department of Transportation's budget.  Non-General Fund, Road Fund
 
ACTION TO BE TAKEN FOLLOWING APPROVAL:  Following Board approval, the Procurement and Contracts division will issue PO201111017 order in the amount of $331,645.89 plus all applicable taxes and fees to Riverview International Trucks, LLC of West Sacramento, CA.
