Supervisor Briggs recommending the Board approve the waiver of County Ordinance Code Section 5.32.170, allowing the promotion and sale of tickets by the El Dorado Arts Council for the 6th Annual Coloma Blues Live! Event per Site Plan Review (SPR 11-0001) scheduled for June 4, 2011.

Ordinance Code Section 5.32.170 prohibits the advertisement or announcement by any means or medium, including but not confined to pamphlets, handbills, newspapers, radio, and television, the holding of an outdoor music festival prior to the granting of a permit. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the application for the 6th Annual Coloma Blues Live! Event (SPR 11-0001) is currently pending final review and approval. The advance sale of tickets contributes to the success of the event with tickets sales historically beginning in early March.
As Coloma Blues Live! is an annual event with documented success that contributes to the County's economy, and the application for this year's event is now pending final review and approval, Supervisor Briggs recommends the Board approve the waiver of County Ordinance Section 5.32.170 and allow for the promotion and sale of tickets for the June 4, 2011, Coloma Blues Live! Event.
