Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:
The County will receive $450.00 to be deposited in the General Fund. There is no Net County Cost associated with this agenda item.

Background:
BLOODSOURCE, INC. (BloodSource) has held community blood drives in South Lake Tahoe for forty-four years and provides blood to forty hospitals in the greater Sacramento Region including Barton Memorial Hospital in South Lake Tahoe. The blood drives are sponsored by the Barton Hospital Auxiliary.

Reason for Recommendation:
In the past, BloodSource was holding the community blood drives at the South Lake Tahoe Airport in the lobby area. This was supported by the airport staff. However, the location was not best suited for blood drives due to space restrictions and donor convenience. The Department of Transportation (Department), the South Lake Tahoe Branch Library and BloodSource worked together to find a new location and the South Lake Tahoe Branch Library was selected as the ideal location. BloodSource will utilize the main entrance library lobby, the restrooms, the meeting room off the entrance of the lobby and a designated portion of the children's area. BloodSource will assume all costs associated with the set-up and tear down within the facility for its use. BloodSource will pay all fees associated with the cleaning after each blood drive and will pay $90 for each use for a total of $450 to be paid to the County upon the commencement date of the Facility Use Agreement.
