Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: These funds will provide the matching funds to the Safe Routes to School grant.  
 
Background: On October 1, 2009, the El Dorado County Transportation Commission (EDCTC) adopted Resolution 09/10.06 allocating $140,000 in Transportation Development Act (TDA) Funds to El Dorado County Department of Transportation, to be used for Article 3 purposes.  Article 3 of the TDA permits counties to file claims for bicycle and pedestrian projects.
 
Reason for Recommendation: The TDA Article 3 funds will provide additional funding for the Northside School Bike Path project. The Northside School Class I Bike Path - Phase 2 (SR49) project is included in the adopted 2010 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) as project 72306.
 
Action to be taken following Board approval:  Upon approval of the recommendation, DOT will file a claim signed by the Director of Transportation for TDA Article 3 funds with the EDCTC, with said funds to be used on the Northside School Bike Path, project 72306.
