Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: This expense has been included in the Sheriff's budget.

Background: On April 27, 2010, the Board approved a request from the Sheriff's office to enter into an agreement with Principal Decision Systems International (PDSI) for the purchase of Telestaff Software Program and Licensing (Legistar File ID 10-0370). This software program automates the complex staff scheduling processes unique to the Sheriff's Patrol and Central Dispatch Divisions. In addition to saving staff time, this program assists in identifying and preventing scheduling situations which contribute to increase overtime costs, as well as assists in ensuring minimum staffing levels are met.

Reason for Recommendation: The term of the original agreement was for one (1) year and the agreement automatically renews for one more year unless terminated, making the agreement perpetual for annual maintenance costs.
