Title: Department of Transportation recommending the Board adopt a Resolution sanctioning the road closure of Merrychase Drive from Country Club Drive to the southern entrance of Blue Oak Elementary School. Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:
There is no fiscal impact and no change to Net County Cost associated with this item.
 
Background:
The Blue Oak Elementary School's Annual "Bulldog Biathlon" is a running/cycling event for children from Kindergarten through fifth grade and is sponsored by the Blue Oak Elementary Parent-Teacher's Association.   Sponsors anticipate approximately 100 children for the event.  The requested road closure is for the safety of the participants, children, volunteers, and spectators along the course.
 
Reason for Recommendation:
The Department of Transportation is recommending the Board approve the proposed Resolution for the safety and success of this event.  No involved agencies objected to this closure.
 
Action to be taken following Board approval:
1)  The Board Clerk will obtain the Chair's signature on the Resolution.
2)  The Board Clerk will send an executed copy of the Resolution to the Department of Transportation.
