Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: There is no funding associated with this Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
 
Reason for Recommendation: The purpose of this MOU is to identify Campaign Against Marijuana Planting (CAMP) and Sheriff's Office responsibilities related to cannabis eradication operations in El Dorado County. The Sheriff's Office is committed to provide a lead deputy while CAMP teams are operational in the County and be responsible for the disposition of all contraband and evidence seized during CAMP operations. The local jurisdiction shall conduct the investigations and have the responsibility to prosecute any arrested suspects with their District Attorney's Office.
 
The term of this MOU is June 15, 2011 through October 30, 2011.
 
Action to be taken following Board approval: The Chair of the Board will sign the MOU and the Clerk of the Board will return the executed copy to the Sheriff's Office for distribution.
