Body

Background: Coach Mark Ferry  started up The Trojans High School Mountain Bike Team last year with 15 kids from Oakridge High School.  This year it has grown to include another 15 kids from Union Mine High School, Ponderosa High School, Sacramento and Orangevale.  The team has added a junior team of 8-13 year olds and have 80 kids that meet once a week to train.  The Trojan Mountain Bike Team is supported by a community volunteer effort and private funding.  Although a relatively small group of riders compared to the competing teams, the Trojans Mountain Bike Team has made El Dorado County proud by taking second in the state mountain bike championship.
