Windwalker Vineyard and Winery in Fairplay, California was awarded Top honors at the 2011 California State Fair. Of the 2,800 wineries in the State of California, the owners of Windwalker, Jim and Alanna Taff took top honors as recipients of the prestigious "Golden Bear Award" for the Best Red Wine in the entire State, for their Shady Lady 2008 Primitivo, and was recognized as "Third Winery Overall in the State". In total, they were honored with eleven awards for their fine wines
On July 30, 2011, at the "Windwalker Lady of the Fair" event, Supervisor's Ray Nutting and John Knight presented Windwalker with a proclamation acknowledging their extraordinary accomplishments and the honor it brings to El Dorado County.
