Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: The total amount of this revenue generating Agreement is $25,000. There is no Net County Cost associated with this Agreement.

Compensation for Services: Payments are payable to County based upon monthly invoicing, at specified billing rates as detailed in Section 3.02 of the Agreement, for actual services performed and documented per contract requirements.

Contract Termination: This Agreement includes a provision for either party to terminate the Agreement without cause upon seven (7) calendar days written notice.

Reason for Recommendation: Alpine County has limited staff resources to provide psychiatric emergency services to its residents. As Alpine County borders El Dorado County, a collaborative relationship benefits both counties.

This Agreement will allow the Mental Health Division to continue providing psychiatric emergency services on an as requested basis for Alpine County residents. These services will include assessment pursuant to Penal Code Section 5150 and a determination of the appropriate type of response. Assessments will be conducted at Barton Hospital in South Lake Tahoe. Psychiatric emergency services will be available twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week. Transportation to El Dorado County will be provided by Alpine County law enforcement.
