Department of Transportation recommending the Board adopt Resolution 191-2011 sanctioning the closure of Main Street between Highway 193 and Harkness Street; and Harkness Street from Main Street to South Street in Georgetown on Saturday, December 3, 2011, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for the annual Georgetown "Parade of Lights" event, subject to the conditions set forth in Resolution No. 110-79 and conditions set forth in the "Application for Road Closure."

Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: No fiscal impact or net county cost.
Background: The annual Georgetown "Parade of Lights" event is sponsored by the Georgetown Rotary Club. The requested road closures are to ensure the safety of the participants, volunteers and spectators during the event.
Reason for Recommendation: The Department of Transportation is recommending the Board approve the proposed Resolution for the safety and success of this annual community event. Other involved agencies have made no objections to this closure.
Action to be taken following Board approval:
1. Clerk of the Board to obtain the Chairman's signature on the Resolution.
2. Clerk of the Board to send an executed copy of the Resolution to the
Department of Transportation.
3. The roads listed in the Resolution will be closed on Saturday, December 3,
2011, between 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., for the annual Georgetown
"Parade of Lights" event.
