Title

Planning and Building Department, Economic Development Division, recommending the Board consider the following:

1) Receive and file a presentation from the Community & Economic Development Advisory Committee (CEDAC) on CEDAC’s 2021 Action Plan;

2) Receive and file CEDAC's 2021 Annual Report; and

3) Provide direction to CEDAC on any changes to its objectives prior to the development of the 2022 Action Plan.

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

Objective 10.1.1, Cooperative Approach, of the Economic Development Element of the County’s General Plan provides direction to utilize the Economic Development Providers Network or other Board of Supervisors recognized economic development organizations to advise and recommend to the Board of Supervisors policies and a course of action that will facilitate the County’s economic vitality.

 

On May 9, 2006, the Board created the Economic Development Advisory Committee, now the Community & Economic Development Advisory Committee, or CEDAC, to assist with the implementation of this Objective.

 

Program 10.1.1.1.1, under Objective 10.1.1, specifically directs that an Annual Report and Action plan be prepared. 

 

ALTERNATIVES

The Board may choose not to approve the 2021 Action Plan, or may choose to make modifications to the objectives contained within.
