Department of Transportation recommending the Board approve the following:
1) Award Bid 19-863-074 for the purchase of Equipment / Truck Tires, Tubes, Wheels and Related Products and Services to the low qualified bidder, Sierra Nevada Tire and Wheel of Placerville, CA;
2) Authorize the Purchasing Agent to issue a purchase order contract in the amount of $285,000 for a thirty-six (36) month period following Board approval; and
3) Authorize the Purchasing Agent to increase the purchase order contract on an "as needed" basis during the awarded period as long as funding is available within the requesting department's budget.
FUNDING: Road Fund - Discretionary.

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
At the request of the Department of Transportation, the Procurement and Contracts Division issued an Invitation to Bid 19-863-074 for the purchase of Equipment / Truck Tires, Tubes, Wheels and Related Products and Services for the West and East Slopes of El Dorado County.
Twelve (12) Bid Notification letters were mailed, six (6) to local vendors. One (1) qualified response was received, from the local vendor Sierra Nevada Tire and Wheel.
ALTERNATIVES
There are no alternatives. The purchase of truck tires, tubes, wheels and related products is required for the maintenance of County Vehicles. The vehicles associated with these purchases are used for road maintenance. If the vehicles are not maintained for active operations/use, road maintenance schedules could be adversely affected by out-of-service issues and potentially afftect the public's safe use of County roadways.
