DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
On April 28, 2015, the Board approved Agreement No. 477-S1511 with The Center for Violence-Free Relationships (the Center) for the provision of one (1) FTE to work with the District Attorney's Office providing domestic violence counseling services to crime victims. The program is funded by California Office of Emergency Services Grant No. LE14010090, for the period of January 1, 2015 through December 31, 2017, for a total not to exceed amount of $150,327.00, inclusive of all expenses.
On May 3, 2016, the Board approved Amendment I to Agreement 477-S1511 to amend the billing structure, retroactively to December 1, 2015, from an hourly rate to a monthly rate with no change to the term or total not to exceed amount.
In November 2016, the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services notified the District Attorney's Office the 2017 Law Enforcement Specialized Units Program Request for Application (RFA) would include additional funding. The District Attorney's Office submitted the RFA with requests to use the additional funding to increase the salary and benefits of the District Attorney Investigator assigned to the Domestic Violence program and increase the total annual payment to the Center for Violence-Free Relationships, which provides domestic violence counseling service to crime victims. In March 2017, the District Attorney's Office received notification the 2017 California Office of Emergency Services Grant No. LE16030090 award was approved as submitted.
