Human Resources Department, Risk Management Division, recommending the Board:
1) Make findings that the provision of pre-employment health screening and physical examinations provided by Occu-Med LTD. are in the public's best interest and that there are specialty skills, qualifications, and equipment not expressly identified in County classifications involved in the performance of the work in accordance with El Dorado County Ordinance Code, Chapter 3.13.030(B);
2) Approve and authorize the Chair to sign Amendment III to Agreement 6922 with Occu-Med LTD., for pre-employment health screening and physical examinations to increase the amount by $25,000, for a new total amount of $335,000, with no change to the term ending December 31, 2024; and
3) Authorize the Purchasing Agent to execute any necessary amendments relating to Agreement 6922, excluding term extensions and increases to the amount, contingent upon approval by County Counsel and Risk Management.
FUNDING: General Liability Program Fund.

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
Occu-Med LTD. was awarded Request for Proposal 19-961-007 on November 20, 2018, with Legistar file 18-1766. Occu-Med LTD. has been providing professional occupational health consulting and related services to the County since 2019 that include, but are not limited to, pre-employment health screenings and physical examinations. Occu-Med LTD. also provides the County advice and guidance related to the results of these screenings and evaluations.
On December 13, 2022, with Legistar file 22-1535, the Board approved and authorized the Chair to sign Agreement 6922 with Occu-Med LTD. to continue providing these services with a total amount of $276,000 for a two-year term of January 1, 2023 through December 31, 2024.
On June 11, 2024, with Legistar file 24-0954, the Board approved Amendment I to Agreement 6922 increasing the amount by $34,000 for a new total amount of $310,000.
On August 20, 2024, with Legistar file 24-1126, the Board approved Amendment II to Agreement 6922 which incorporated the second page of Exhibit B that was inadvertently omitted from the Amendment that was approved on June 11, 2024.
The proposed Amendment III to Agreement 6922 will increase the amount by $25,000, for a new total amount of $335,000 through the end of the contract term. The amount is being requested to be increased due to the increase in recruitment activities necessitating higher than anticipated pre-employment health screenings and physical examinations.

The Board could choose not to approve the Amendment.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funding for Amendment III to Agreement 6922 is included in the Human Resources Program Budget for Fiscal Year 2024-25. Any department specific services will be charged back to that department.
