DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
The Chief Administrative Office requested that County Counsel, the Chief Administrative Office, Economic Development, and the El Dorado County Fair Association work together to develop a presentation to update the Board of Supervisors on the El Dorado County Fair. The presentation covers the following topics:
- Role of the Department of Food and Agriculture in fairs
- History of the El Dorado County Fair
- Summary of the agreement between El Dorado County and the El Dorado County Fair Association
- Overview of the structure of similar fair agreements in California
- Summary of the El Dorado County Fair Association By-Laws
- El Dorado County Fair Association budget, funding, and employees
- Existing infrastructure needs on fairgrounds property
- TOT funding requests
On May 23, 2019 the El Dorado County Grand Jury released report 18-06 titled, A Fair Review. A draft of the response to the report is forthcoming for Board review.

The Board may choose not to receive and file the presentation.
