DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
On July 19, 2022 (Legistar 22-1238) the Board adopted Resolution 113-2022 to place a ballot measure requesting voters to support a 4% Special Tax increase to the County’s TOT rate in the unincorporated portion of the Tahoe Area. The proposed ordinance implementing the increase submitted to the voters was attached as Exhibit B to Resolution 113-2022.
On November 8, 2022, the El Dorado County electorate voted to approve Measure S - the 4% Special Tax increase to the County’s TOT rate in the unincorporated portion of the Tahoe Area.
Staff are recommending the Board authorize the Chair to sign Ordinance No. ___ as approved by the voters. Approval of Measure S in November’s Election amends Section 3.28.030 of Chapter 3.28 of the County Code of Ordinances to include a 4% Special Tax increase to the County’s TOT rate in the unincorporated portion of the Tahoe Area. Ordinance No. __ as approved by the voters will go into effect on January 1, 2023, after the results of the election have been declared by the Board.
