Background: On April 13, 2010, the Board approved grant documents for one-time funds through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (Recovery Act) of 2009, being distributed by the California Emergency Management Agency (Cal EMA) in conjunction with the Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs (ADP). These one-time funds are designated to be used to provide substance abuse treatment for criminal offenders convicted of nonviolent drug offenses in the Offender Treatment Program (OTP) in conjunction with a drug court model.
Via a letter from Cal EMA dated February 1, 2010, the County received notice of Cal EMA's intent to grant the award in the amount of $293,654 pending final processing of the grant documents for the term of October 1, 2009 through March 31, 2011.
