DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION:
Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) recommending the Board accept additional funding from the California Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) in the amount of $198,040 to extend the County Victim Services Program identified in Funding Agreement No. 334-F1711 from July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2018 to December 31, 2019.

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND:
On May 17, 2016, the Board authorized the submission of a grant application to the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services for the County Victim Services Program for Fiscal Years 2016-17 and 2017-18, for an estimated grant amount of $272,638 (File ID: 16-0232, Agenda No. 16). The Board also delegated authority to the Director of Health and Human Services agency to accept the funding and execute the agreement, including any extension(s) or amendment(s) thereto, contingent upon County Counsel and Risk Management approval.

The County Victim Services Program funding is designated for the purpose of funding Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA El Dorado) advocates for children who are currently unserved or underserved. This funding is provided to CASA El Dorado through Agreement for Services No. 153-S1711. The County cannot utilize this funding for any other purpose.
