Chief Administrative Office, Economic Development Division, recommending the Board receive a presentation from Janet Sambucetti with the El Dorado Chapter of People to People on the 2016 Youth Summit exchange program held in July 2016.
DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
On June 7, 2016, the Board received a presentation from Janet Sambucetti with the El Dorado Chapter of People to People regarding "People to People International" and the Sister City Program between Warabi, Japan and El Dorado County, including the 2016 Youth Summit exchange program and a request to consider supporting the Youth Summit by funding a portion of the expenses to support youth exchange activities while in El Dorado County in July 2016. On June 28, 2016 the Board adopted resolution 105-2016 determining that a public benefit is derived from the 2016 Youth Summit, and authorized a contribution in the amount of $4,250 to the El Dorado Chapter of People to People International to be used for a portion of the expenses of the 2016 Youth Summit exchange program. The Board also asked Janet Sambucetti to return with a report on Youth Summit following the event.
