Reason for Recommendation:
During the Budget Workshop Meeting with the Board of Supervisors on June 10, 2008, the Health Services Department presented preliminary information regarding potential State funding cuts and/or deferrals that would impact the Department's programs and services in FY 09-10. The Department recommended that it return to the Board on June 23, 2009 with further updates/information relative to potential State actions, as well as with recommendations for steps to be taken by the Department to manage fiscal and contractual impacts.
At the meeting on June 23, 2009, the Board requested the HSD Director to report back to the Board regularly during FY 09-10 with fiscal and operational updates and recommendations, with the next update to be in July 2009.
Action to be taken following Board approval:
Take action on any Department or Board recommendations relative to managing the Department's budget in FY 09-10.
