DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
PG&E has reached out to the County with the desire to partner in connection with a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) event. The attached license agreement allows PG&E use of the Georgetown Library to establish and operate a customer resource center (CRC) in the case of a PSPS event. Currently El Dorado County leases the Georgetown Library from Richard and Cheryl Anderson and the site does not have a generator or the transfer switch required to run a generator. PG&E will be making improvements to the facility to add the transfer switch as well as ADA improvements to the parking area. During a PSPS event, PG&E will provide the generator to run the facility. PG&E anticipates that the generator may remain on site from approximately June 1 until December 31 each year. The transfer switch will be a permanent addition to the building and the County would be able to bring a portable generator to the site during the times that the PG&E generator is not on site. The agreement is effective upon execution through September 30, 2025, which is the County's lease expiration date for the building. If the County renews the lease, the License Agreement with PG&E will be amended to extend the date to match the County's most recent lease expiration date.
