Community Development Agency, Transportation Division, recommending the Board consider the following:
1) Approve and authorize the Chair to sign the Notice of Acceptance with Sierra Nevada Construction, Inc. for Northside School Class I Bike Path - Phases 1 and 2 Project, CIP No. 72304 (Phase 1, SR193) and CIP No. 72306 (Phase 2, SR49); and
2) Approve and authorize the Clerk of the Board to release the Payment and Performance Bonds to the Surety upon notification from the Transportation Division after the one-year guarantee period.
FUNDING: Federal Safe Routes to School Grant Funds, Public Land Highway Discretionary Fund, Federal Congestion Mitigation Air Quality Funds, State Safe Routes to School Grant Funds, Regional Surface Transportation Program Rural Exchange Funds and Transportation Development Act Funds from the El Dorado County Transportation Commission. DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
The contract for the Northside School Class I Bike Path - Phases 1 and 2 Project (Project) was approved by the Board on March 18, 2014, item number 21. The Project was completed on January 24, 2015. Recordation of the Notice of Acceptance will start legal time frames for guarantees, a lien period, and return of retention monies. Recordation of the Notice of Acceptance will start the one-year time frame for releasing the Payment and Performance Bonds to the Surety.
