Human Resources Department is recommending the Board:
1) Approve and adopt revisions to Board Policy E-9 - Background Investigation Requirements for Individuals with Access to Federal Tax Information; and
2) Grant the Director of Human Resources the authority to make changes to the Policy that are either non-substantive or necessary to accord with changes to relevant statutes or regulations.

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
On April 24, 2018, with Legistar item 18-0607, the Board of Supervisors adopted policy E-9 - Background Investigation Requirements for Individuals with Access to Federal Tax Information.
On May 10, 2022, with Legistar item 22-0721, the Board approved revisions to the policy which included modifications to comply with changes made to IRS Publication 1075, an update to the policy revision date, and an extension of the sunset date.
The Human Resources Department is recommending minor modifications to the policy and an extension of the sunset date.
ALTERNATIVES
The Board may choose not to approve the recommended changes; direct staff to make additional modifications; or take no action.
