Title

Supervisor Novasel recommending the Board:

1) Receive a Presentation by Heidi Hill Drum, Executive Director of the Tahoe Prosperity Center;

2) Adopt and authorize the Chair to sign Resolution 048-2016 establishing formal County representation on the Tahoe Prosperity Center Board of Directors; and

3) Appoint the District V Supervisor to the Tahoe Prosperity Center Board of Directors, for a term that shall run concurrently with the District V Board Member's term in office.

Body

As stated in the attached Resolution, the County of El Dorado has participated in the formation and funding of the Tahoe Prosperity Center in collaboration with Tahoe Basin California and Nevada jurisdictions since 2010 to create the Tahoe Prosperity Plan intended to strengthen regional prosperity, community and economic development, to expand opportunities for broadband infrastructure placement and improvements and to compete for federal, state and local grant funds that support this mission.

 

El Dorado County has been asked to formally appoint the District V Supervisor to serve on the Tahoe Prosperity Center Board of Directors.  Consistent will all Board committees and commissions that represent the County, a Resolution will establish participation and appointment.
