Department of Human Services recommending the Board consider the following:
1) Approve the 2011-2012 Update to the 2009-2012 El Dorado County (Planning and Service Area 29) Area Plan for Senior Services; and
2) Authorize the Chair to sign a Transmittal Letter for submittal of said Plan Update to the California Department of Aging.

Reason for Recommendation:
The California Department of Aging requires an annual update to the 2009-2012 Area Plan for Senior Services approved by the Board on May 12, 2009. The 2011-12 Area Plan Update reviews FY 2010-11 accomplishments and provides guidance for continued provision of senior services in El Dorado County, with an ongoing focus on targeting resources to the priorities of aging in place, caring for the caregiver, preparing for the boomers, focus on hidden populations, safety and well-being, elder abuse prevention, awareness of services and improving quality and capacity of care. The attached Summary provides a description of significant accomplishments that occurred during FY 2010-11. Accomplishments include the Home-Delivered Meals Wellness Outreach Program, outreach to targeted populations, use of American Recovery & Reinvestment Act funds for the continuation and enhancement of Senior Nutrition and Information & Assistance services, and continued needs assessment activities.
Action to be taken following Board approval:
1. Board Clerk to provide Human Services at Briw Road, with two copies of the Transmittal Letter signed by the Chair for submittal of the 2011-2012 El Dorado County Area Plan Update to the California Department of Aging(CDA).
2. Human Services to submit the 2011-2012 Plan Update and signed Transmittal Letter to CDA.
