Sheriff's Office recommending the Board authorize the Chair to sign Agreement No. 004-S1310 with El Dorado County Office of Education, Adult Education Program, in an amount not to exceed $36,018 for the term of July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013, to provide an inmate education program.

Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: Funding for this agreement has been included in the Sheriff's Office Fiscal Year 2012-13 budget. As a result, there is no change to Net County Cost. Total Estimated Cost: $36,018.
Background: In accordance with Title 15, Section 1061 of the California Administrative Code, the Sheriff's Office contracts with the El Dorado County Office of Education to provide personnel and services which are necessary to support a jail inmate education program. Specifically, this program is to provide for the voluntary academic and/or vocational education of both sentenced and non-sentenced inmates.
Reason for Recommendation: Approval of this agreement will allow El Dorado County Office of Education during Fiscal Year 2012-13 to continue providing these mandated services on behalf of the Sheriff's Office. During the re-negoation for this Agreement, El Dorado County Office of Education changed Article XII: Indemnity to include non-standard language.
Action(s) to be taken following Board approval: Board Chair will sign and Clerk of the Board will return agreement to the Sheriff's Office for distribution.
