Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: None. Funding for this project is available in the ACO budget. Originally, the projected was budgeted for $275,000; however, based on updated information it is anticipated actual costs will be approximately $350,000.

Reason for Recommendation: Replacement of the two water heaters has been budgeted in the ACO fund; however, the work was never completed. During a recent walk through of the facility the Sheriff’s Office and Facilities Manager identified the water heater that provides hot water to the inmate showers and sinks is only operating on one burner and is also leaking water. If this burner fails, hot water will not be available to the inmates in violation of Pursuant to Title 24, Sections 1231.3.2 and 1231.3.4 which states wash basins and showers in detention facilities must have cold, hot or blended water
