Title: Transportation recommending the Board consider the following: 1) Make findings pursuant to Article II, Section 210b (6) of the El Dorado County Charter that the ongoing aggregate of the work performed under this Agreement is not sufficient to warrant the addition of permanent staff; and 2) Authorize the Chair to sign Agreement for Services 389-S1311 with Five Star Automotive in an amount not-to-exceed $150,000 for a one year term to provide automotive maintenance and repair services for fleet vehicles located in the South Lake Tahoe basin. Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost
Funding is included in the fiscal year 2012-13 Fleet Operations Internal Service Fund budget and will be included in future budgets covered by the term of this Agreement. There is no change to Net County Cost.

Reason for Recommendation
Under the proposed Agreement, Five Star Automotive will furnish materials, supplies, parts, equipment, personnel, subcontractors and services necessary to provide automotive repair and maintenance services for County fleet vehicles in the South Lake Tahoe basin. Details of the work will include preventive maintenance; tune-ups; engine overhauls; smog inspections; windshield and glass repairs or replacements; tire mounting, installation, balancing, studding and repairs; alignments; minor body repairs; and maintenance and repair of brakes, air conditioning systems, electrical systems, suspension systems, engine cooling systems, transmissions and clutches.
