Background
On July 19, 2011, the Board adopted Resolution 127-2011 assigning District Attorney Vern Pierson the duties of County Chief Technology Officer, and setting his base hourly pay rate to $94.69. Section 2 of the resolution states "Vern Pierson shall be entitled to and shall receive additional compensation to bring his base hourly rate to $94.69, an amount 10% less than the hourly pay rate of the position of Sheriff".  In fact, this base hourly rate is not 10% less than the hourly pay rate of the position of Sheriff.  Upon adoption of Resolution 127-2011 and upon taking on the additional responsibilities of the County Chief Technology Officer, District Attorney Vern Pierson has received the base hourly pay rate of $94.69.
 
Reason for Recommendation
An amendment to Resolution 127-2011 is needed to strike inaccurate information from the initial resolution, and to create an accurate public record that clarifies and confirms that the base hourly pay rate for District Attorney Vern Pierson is $94.69.
 
Action(s) to be taken following Board approval
Clerk of the Board will amend Resolution 127-2011 with this newly adopted resolution.
