Procurement and Contracts has been advised that funding is available within the Community Development Agency - Division of Transportation's budget, Road Discretionary Fund.

Reason For Recommendation
At the request of the Community Development Agency - Division of Transportation, the Procurement and Contracts Division issued Invitation to Bid No.11-288-050 for the purchase of Plant Mix Asphalt Concrete. On 05/17/2011 Item No. 9, the Board of Supervisors awarded the East Slope portion of bid No.11-288-050 to the low qualified bidder Tahoe Asphalt, Inc. of South Lake Tahoe, CA. in the amount of $175,000 for a two-year period expiring on 05/18/2013. The Board also authorized the Purchasing Agent to increase the blanket purchase order on an "as needed" basis, provided that funding was available in the Transportation Division's budget. Over the past two years, the department has spent approximately $1,250,000 with this vendor.
