Title: Chief Administrative Office, Procurement and Contracts on behalf of the Sheriff's Office, recommending the Board consider the following: 1) Authorize the acquisition of eight (8) each 911 Radio Consoles (fixed assets) prior to adoption of the Fiscal Year 2014/15 budget; 2) Award Bid No. 14-725-078 for the purchase of 911 Radio Consoles to the low qualified bidder, Nielsen's Equipment Maintenance of Mammoth Lakes, CA; 3) Authorize the Purchasing Agent to accept a $12,000 trade-in credit and issue a purchase order in the net amount of $118,296 plus applicable sales tax and fees; and 4) Authorize the Purchasing Agent to issue additional purchase orders on an "as needed" basis during the awarded one-year period as long as funding is available within the Sheriff's budget. Procurement and Contracts has been advised that funding is available within the Sheriff's budget.

Reason for Recommendation
At the request of Sheriff's Office, the Procurement and Contracts division issued an Invitation to Bid for 911 Radio Consoles. The existing 911 radio consoles need to be replaced because they are 20 years old and parts are no longer available. The 911 radio consoles are needed to to keep the dispatch center up and running, and will allow for future growth.

Thirteen (13) bid notification letters were mailed, none to local vendors. Three qualified responses were received, none from local vendors. The evaluation is based upon the estimated quantities of 911 radio consoles needed for this fisacal year.
