Sheriff’s Office recommending the Board approve and authorize the Chair to sign Amendment III to Facility Use Agreement #498-O411 with Verizon Wireless to install certain additional equipment on the property and to replace Exhibit C-1 to the Second Amendment with Exhibit C-2, to update Section 3 Notice, to replace Section 4 Paragraph 9 in its entirety, to replace Section 5 Administrator Paragraph 16 in its entirety and to add Section 6 Continued Effect.
FUNDING: Verizon Wireless will bear all the costs of the additional equipment. No County funding will be necessary.

Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:
Funding is from Verizon Wireless. There is no Change to Net County Cost. This is a revenue generating agreement for the Sheriff’s Office.
Background:
Verizon purchased the Mountain Cellular network and as part of Verizon Wireless' ongoing commitment to providing the most reliable network possible, an audit was conducted of the network and sites in need of improvement were identified. Verizon identified the Placerville Sheriff's site as a site in need of improvement. Verizon currently uses a portion of the Sheriff's Department's building for the purpose of law enforcement radio communications for the public good. On December 12, 2006 the Board approved Amendment I to Facility Use Agreement 498-0411 to relocate existing equipment from shared vault with the Sheriff's Department to unused attic space on the roof to solve both overheating problems and security access issues.
On December 14, 2010, the Board approved Amendment II to Facility Use Agreement # 498-O411with Cellco Partnership dba Verizon Wireless for the right to install, operate and maintain at Verizon Wireless' sole cost and expense, three (3) additional panel antennas on the existing tower, together with accompanying radio communications equipment and appurtenances.
