The mission of the National Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Association, together with its state and local members, is to support and promote court-appointed volunteer advocacy so that every abused or neglected child can be safe, establish permanence and have the opportunity to thrive. The Court Appointed Special Advocate programs (CASA) have operated successfully nationally for the past thirty five years and CASA El Dorado, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, has operated successfully locally for the past twenty years. Pursuant to Welfare & Institutions Code §103(c), each CASA is an officer of the court and pursuant to §102(c), each CASA must provide independent factual information to the court regarding the cases to which he or she is assigned, while representing the best interest of the children involved in the cases to which he or she is appointed.
