Sheriff’s Office recommending the Board approve and authorize the Chair to:
1) Sign a Budget Transfer in the amount of $25,000 to increase appropriations in the Sheriff’s Office Fiscal Year 2014/15 Budget to be used as a reward for information that leads to the identification and apprehension of the suspect involved in the shooting of an El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office Deputy on October 17, 2014, and full cooperation with all law enforcement entities and representatives regarding any aspect of the investigation and prosecution (4/5 vote required); and
2) Authorize the Sheriff to use appropriations for the purpose of reward money in the amount of $25,000 for information that leads to the identification and apprehension of the suspect involved in the shooting of an El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office Deputy on October 17, 2014.
FUNDING: Federal Asset Forfeiture Special Revenue Funds.

Background
On October 17, 2014, at approximately 8:00 am, a Deputy with the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office contacted a white male adult in his 30’s near Cable Road in Camino. A struggle ensued and the suspect retrieved a handgun. The suspect fired at the Deputy; however, the Deputy was not injured. The suspect was wearing a flannel shirt, blue pants and boots. The suspect was further described as having a shaved head with a goatee, approximately 6'-1? to 6'-2?, and approximately 200-250 pounds. The suspect was last seen driving away on Cable Road in a white, single cab Dodge pickup with no license plate.
