DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND:
General
On November 5, 2013, the Board awarded the construction contract for the Pleasant Valley Road (SR 49)/Patterson Drive Intersection Signalization project (Project) to Western Engineering, Inc. The original contract amount was $1,747,742.02. The Project's roadway improvements were fully opened to motorists in fall 2014. Final work on the Project was completed in early 2015.

Part of the Project is in a low-lying drainage swale. Accordingly, Transportation budgeted supplemental funds for the removal of material determined to be unsuitable to support the roadway.
