Body
DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION
The Sheriff's Office recommends this termination of a perpetual agreement, which will be replaced with a two-year contract that can be signed by the Sheriff's Office with flexible pricing that doesn't require repeated Board action in the form of Amendments.

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
The Board approved a perpetual agreement with TRADS on January 2015. Since that time, two Amendments were brought before the Board changing the monthly fees and monthly volume pricing structure. Terminating this current agreement and signing a two-year agreement would give the Sheriff's Office the flexibility to utilize more aggressive volume based pricing.

The Law Enforcement Agency Subscriber Agreement signed by the Board on January 13, 2015 provides for termination in Line #1, which states: Either party may terminate this Agreement at any time".

ALTERNATIVES
Failure to cancel this perpetual agreement will result in the reduced ability of the Sheriff's Office to customize and make changes to the pricing of this service.

OTHER DEPARTMENT / AGENCY INVOLVEMENT
N/A

CAO RECOMMENDATION
The new agreement will be for $200 per month for 1000 searches, and $.20 per search over $1000. Due to the low dollar amount the new agreement will be administered by the Sheriff's office upon termination of the perpetual agreement.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is no change to Net County Cost associated with this agenda item. Sufficient appropriations are included in the Fiscal Year 2014-15 budget and will be included in future County Budget Requests.
