Reason for Recommendation: At the request of the Mental Health Department, the Procurement and Contracts Division issued a Request for Proposal for MHSA Family-Centered Services Program for both the Western Slope and the South Lake Tahoe regions. The qualified respondents were New Morning Youth & Family Services, Inc. of Placerville, CA for the Western Slope region and Tahoe Youth & Family Services of South Lake Tahoe, CA for the South Lake Tahoe region.

On September 12, 2006, Item #36, your Board approved Agreement #181-S0711 with Tahoe Youth & Family Services for the South Lake Tahoe region in an amount not to exceed $392,565.00; while the Mental Health Department continued negotiations with New Morning Youth & Family Services, Inc. for the Western Slope region.

Those negotiations have now been finalized, therefore, staff is bringing this before your Board for award, approval and authorization for the Purchasing Agent to execute Agreement #180-S0711 in an amount not to exceed $263,953.00 with New Morning Youth & Family Services, Inc. upon County Counsel and Risk Management review and approval.
