The Probation Department has advised General Services that funds are included in their FY2007-08 budget request.


Background: The Probation Department has leased space since November 28, 1998 at their current location, 471 Pierroz Road in Placerville. The staffing and program needs of the Department have increased, resulting in a need for additional office space which can no longer be accommodated at their current location.

Reason for Recommendation: To accommodate the increased space requirements of the Probation Department, the General Services Department has negotiated a new lease with Durock Properties for 10, 346 square feet to include sufficient parking for staff and clients. This lease is to commence upon completion of tenant improvements and a receipt of a certificate of occupancy lease payment shall begin and end five (5) years from that date, with options for two (2) additional five (5) year terms thereafter. Upon receipt of a certificate of occupancy lease payments will be $18,415.88 per month calculated at $1.78 per square foot.
