Title: Transportation Department recommending the Board make findings pursuant to Article II, Section 210 b (6) of the El Dorado County Charter that there are specialty skills required for the work performed under this Agreement that are not expressly identified in County classifications, and that the on-going aggregate of the work performed under this Agreement is not sufficient to warrant the addition of permanent staff; and Chairman be authorized to sign Agreement for Services AGMT 08-1660 with David Ford Consulting Engineers, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $150,000 for a three year term to provide on-call hydrologic and hydraulic engineering services. Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: This three-year agreement is for the not to exceed amount of $150,000 and will be funded as described above. There is no fiscal impact to the County General Fund.

Background:
Consultant Selection: In late 2007, the County’s Procurement and Contracts Office released a Request for Qualificactions (RFQ) for the Department for a variety of transportation related disciplines. Based on the results of that RFQ, David Ford is the #1 firm in the Hydraulics and Hydrology Engineering category.
