Public Health Director requesting authorization to sign retroactive Cost Reimbursement Agreement 7275-07/08-709 with the County of Sacramento Department of Health and Human Services in the amount of $53,468 for the term March 1, 2007 through February 29, 2008 to provide direct emergency services to people living with HIV disease through The Ryan White C.A.R.E. Act.

Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: This Ryan White C.A.R.E. Act Agreement provides $53,468 in funding for the term 3/01/07 through 2/29/08. The FY 06/07 adopted budget includes this funding as does the proposed FY 07/08 County budget. There is no net County cost.
Background: The Ryan White C.A.R.E. Act provides direct emergency services for people living with HIV disease. Services include, but are not limited to, information, referrals and/or arranging for outpatient medical care, skilled nursing, medication management, diagnosis and treatment of common medical and mental conditions, and addressing nutrition issues to include direct food purchases as well as support to local food banks in El Dorado County. El Dorado County Ryan White and HOPWA (housing assistance) services are subcontracted out to Sierra Foothills AIDS Foundation, an agency with which we have a longstanding, successful relationship. The Department will return to the Board to execute the subcontracts with Sierra Foothills AIDS Foundation for HOPWA and Ryan White services. The contracts are now being processed through our system.
