Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: New Morning and Tahoe Youth shall be compensated a not to exceed amount of $14,400 and $9,600 respectively during their contract terms, which span between County fiscal years 2006-07 and 2007-08. These amounts are included in the adopted budget. There is no net County cost.

Background: Drug and alcohol counseling services for individuals under the age of 18 have been provided by New Morning and Tahoe Youth for several years. The outcomes of these services have been positive for the individuals involved and for the community. Both agencies are willing to continue services, and the Department has been awarded sufficient funding by the State to support treatment and counseling activities for juveniles through December, 2007.

That grant award was approved by the Board at their meeting on May 8, 2007. Staff processed subcontracts with these providers after the grant was approved by the State on June 11, 2007 and moved as quickly as possible to get them to the Purchasing Agent for final signature; documents were sent to Procure...
