Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: The mandatory County match will be satisfied through in-kind services provided by the Offices of the District Attorney and Public Defender; budget for these services is included in the FY 2009-10 budget. A budget transfer request to increase the Health Services Department budget by $200,000 is included with this Board item. In addition, the Probation Department will be providing supervision, monitoring and testing services for the DUI Court Program in the amount of $6,000; this increase in the Probation Department budget for FY 2009-10 has been incorporated in the attached budget transfer request.

The grant has a two year term, and services will be provided during that two year period. However, since the grant monies will be allocated to the County in a lump sum at the beginning of the grant period, the budget transfer request reflects the entire amount for fiscal year 2009-10; unused funds at the end of the current fiscal year will be carried forward into the second year of the grant term and budgeted in FY 2010-11 for required services.
