Termination
This Agreement includes the County's standard provision for County to terminate the Agreement without cause upon seven (7) calendar day's written notice.

Background
Under California Health and Safety Code, Division 2.5 and California Code of Regulations Title 22, Division 9, the California Emergency Medical Services Authority ("EMSA") requires that local emergency medical services systems develop written agreements with independent suppliers of emergency advanced life support system ("ALS") medical services.

Agreement for Services 653-PHD0707 with CALSTAR for the provision of ALS pre-hospital patient air transportation services was approved and executed by the Board on October 30, 2007. On July 27, 2010, the Board approved Amendment I extending the term of the agreement through August 31, 2012.

Reason for Recommendation
Health and Human Services Agency, Public Health Division is recommending continued use of CALSTAR's ALS services to ensure compliance with EMSA statutes as well as the continued provision of essential critical care air ambulance services for persons residing in or visiting the County of El Dorado.
