Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with the Probation Department, recommending the Board approve and authorize the Chair to sign Agreement 197-S1711 with Tri-Signal Integration, Inc., in the amount of $125,000 for the term November 1, 2016 through October 31, 2021, with an automatic renewal each year thereafter for annual fire/life safety test and inspections, as well as annual testing and inspection of the Closed Circuit Television TV Video Surveillance, Intercom and Electronic Door Control systems, for the El Dorado County Jail and the El Dorado County Juvenile Treatment Center in South Lake Tahoe.

DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION
The Sheriff's Office recommends the Board approve this contract for the continuation of testing and repair work of the security and fire systems in the South Lake Tahoe Jail and the Juvenile Treatment Center located in South Lake Tahoe.
DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
The Sheriff’s Office and Probation Department have been using Tri-Signal Integration Inc. since 2010 for the annual testing, inspections, monthly preventive maintenance and repair on the fire alarm systems and the closed circuit Television cameras, intercoms and electronic door controls at the South Lake Tahoe Jail and the Juvenile Treatment Center.
The current contract will expire on October 31, 2016. The new contract being brought to Board will have a term of November 01, 2016 through October 31, 2021 with an automatic renewal each year thereafter. The contract will be brought to Board as a perpetual contract each year for approval after the initial five year term expires.
