DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION

Chief Administrative Office recommending the Board consider the final Western El Dorado County Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) and agree to the Plan.

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

On February 14, 2017 the Board received a presentation by the El Dorado County Fire Safe Council on the El Dorado County Fire Safe Council's activities, programs and accomplishments in collaboration with the local Community Fire Safe Councils, the grant funding awarded to the El Dorado County Fire Safe Council and local Community Fire Safe Councils, and a presentation of the draft "Western El Dorado County Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP).

A memo from the CAO was sent to department heads and agencies requesting that they review the draft CWPP and submit any comments by March 24th. Comments were received from CDA, AQMD, Risk Management and legal Counsel and were minor in nature. These comments were reviewed by the Ad Hoc Committee, which then submitted pertinent changes to the Fire Safe Council. Changes were incorporated into the final CWPP, which is now available for consideration by the Board.
